OUR SMALL HERD

Our original four boys came from Ardo Alpacas in Aberdeenshire. We are not alpaca breeders and have our boys purely as pets. Our experience is that you don't need to be a breeder and that a 'batchelor herd' can give much pleasure to the owner. We have 5 acres including our big garden and grazing for the boys, 15 miles north of Inverness, Scotland. I spin, knit, felt and crochet with the fleece from the boys.

  2. I hate the thought of fall coming. I love fall, it just means that our short fall season will quickly turn cold and it will be winter once again. It seems like we just HAD winter. Hate the thoughts of the cold, snowy days...debbie

  3. What a lovely view you have, just the place to sit with a glass of wine after poo-chores! The boys look very smart without those fur coats on!

  4. That's very interesting what you say about sweat glands, as I've noticed patches on Bramleys legs, and I thought it was loss of fleece due to mites or midges.
